Edinburgh Bus Station (previously St. Andrew Square Bus Station) is the bus station serving central Edinburgh which opened in its present form in February 2003.[1]

It is located on Elder Street where the buses enter, with pedestrian access at Elder Street and St. Andrew Square. Buses and coaches serve Glasgow, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Fife. National Express also serves this station to destinations in England and Wales.

The station has recently been upgraded to a more modern facility. There is a newsagent and bakery on site. The central area of the bus station houses ticket offices providing timetable leaflets and information. These are generally open from 06:00 to 20:00.

The two departures and arrivals screens are also located in the central area of the station. Each service is indicated on the screen along with the departure bay and other information. Each bay has its own waiting area. Lockers are also available in the station.[2]

The Bus Station is open daily from 06:00 until midnight except Christmas Day when it is closed.

The Bus Station along with the adjacent Multrees Walk development, including Harvey Nichols and a host of other high end retailers was designed by the Edinburgh office of the architectural firm CDA.
